Perimeter Drain and French Drain

Perimeter drains and french drains have a more utilitarian function of moving water away from the perimeter of a home or any other area where water is not wanted.

In this climate, all homes require properly functioning perimeter drains in order to keep the foundation of the home dry.  A poorly functioning perimeter drain can cause damage to the foundation of a home.  Excavating the perimeter of a home and repairing a damaged or clogged perimeter drain can save a homeowner tens of thousands of dollars.

The installation of a French drain is, likewise, used to move water from any other area where water is wanted to be moved from.  This can be a garden that collects too much water, a low part of your front yard that gets too wet in the winter, or any other area of your property that gets too wet in the winter time. Here, water can be captured and redistributed to another area.
