Rain Coast Earthworks understands that drought mitigation is a long term issue. The solutions therefore need to be well thought out. We offer our Consultation Services to those who are not entirely sure what their property requires and are interested in exploring a range of ideas and options for what drought-proofing their property could look like over the long-term.
What a consultation looks like is a visit to your property. It involves discussing your property and any issue regarding the flow of water on and across your property that you may be having. A consultation can often include the collection of soil to be later assessed. It can also include determining the functionality of any current drainage tools (French drain, etc).
In addition to providing you with our expert opinion during our site visit, you will receive a follow-up 1-page document outlining our recommendations in detail. We use a ‘whole systems design’ approach and use permaculture principles to help guide us in providing you with our recommendations. In addition to this, we offer a follow up phone call as part of the Consultation. This is intended to answer any questions or to elaborate on any information provided in the document.
